Best Oil Filter for Synthetic Oil

We are harder on our vehicles now days than we ever have been. Hypermiling to try to get every last mile out of a gallon of gasoline. Romping on the gas from every stop light like we’re racing for pink slips. The length of time between oil changes is getting longer and longer. Full synthetic oil has allowed us to increase that distance more and more between oil changes. They even offer an oil aimed at annual changes now! Or course that depends on how many miles you might drive in a year! So what is the best oil filter for synthetic oil that can hold up 10,000 miles? 20,000? A whole years worth of driving?

Obviously, you need the best synthetic oil to keep everything lubricated and running smoothly. And to help keep that oil clean you need a high quality oil filter. An oil filter’s job is pretty self explanatory. They filter out any impurities in the oil. Depending on the filter quality, it may filter out a higher percentage of impurities than others, catch much smaller sized impurities, or just last longer.

Each vehicle will require it’s own specific oil filter. You will find many different manufacturers, each offering multiple versions of filters, all having different features. Be sure to check and see which model number you need depending on the brand of oil filter you decide to use. You can perform an oil filter cross reference to find the right filter for your vehicle.

Finally, here are some of the more popular options when it comes to a high quality, premium filter that would help keep your synthetic oil clean and well filtered.

Mobil 1 offers up a guarantee for their oil filter. Stating it can provide one full year of guaranteed protection when used with their Mobil 1 Extended Performance oil. Our Conclusion

These are just five of many oil filters on the market. However, they are five of the more popular, well known brands that have significant feedback and reviews online. While you have to take user reviews with a grain of salt, not everyone is an expert after all, the majority trend is usually a good indicator. One detail we will point out. All five of these filters advertise a 99% or better efficiency rating for filtration. But if you look at the details we posted, those ratings are based on catching different size particles. Go back up and take a second look if you missed it. I don’t know about you, but I would rather catch 99% of 20 micron sized particles versus 99% of 30 micron or above particles. What do you think?
